Director | Research and Development (Acting) | NRC Mississauga Advanced Materials Research Facility

Diana Facchini is the Acting Director of Research and Development at the National Research Council Canada's (NRC) Advanced Materials Research Facility in Mississauga, where she oversees its operations and R&D portfolio. Since joining the NRC in 2018 as Strategic Advisor, she has played a key role in shaping the facility’s strategic direction, partnerships, and recent expansion.

As Team Leader, she then led a multidisciplinary team in accelerated materials discovery, electrocatalysis, powder synthesis and multi-scale architected materials. With a focus on bringing Canadian materials innovations to market, Ms. Facchini's early career included roles as an industrial researcher and program lead in structural nanomaterials, as well as fostering industry-academic partnerships in clean technology and manufacturing.

She holds a MASc in Materials Engineering from the University of Toronto.
