Explore opportunities to fund your graduate education

Did you know there are a variety of opportunities to help support you in funding your graduate education? Waterloo works closely with faculties, departments and external agencies to develop and promote competition-based awards and scholarships, in addition to offering minimum funding for certain programs.

There are also bursaries available to support students who demonstrate financial need, students with children and students participating in academic or research travel.

Learn about the different concepts and processes related to funding your graduate studies.

Connect with your peers

Are you wondering where are the best places to eat in Waterloo? What to do on the weekend? Let your peers lead the way!

Once you've setup your @uwaterloo.ca email, you'll be able to access the "Grad Ready Discussion Board" on LEARN where you can connect with other incoming graduate students and start building your circle at Waterloo.

Plan your budget

If you're living on a fixed income, as most students do, it's important to ensure you have enough money to cover all of your expenses during your time at Waterloo. Planning a basic budget using our interactive budget planner can help.

Your spring 2023 bill will be available on Quest and the due date to become "Fees Arranged" is April 24, 2023. Remember, if you're expecting to cover all or part of your tuition with OSAP, a bursary, or a scholarship, you must submit your Promissory Note by the "Fees Arranged" due date to avoid a late fee.
