Theatre production

Written by Sharon Lamont (BA '96)

UWaterloo Theatre Night has become an annual tradition for me, my son Alex, and our friend Deb Hunsberger.  All three of us are Arts alumni, with Deb and Alex having a further connection as Drama grads.  This year was especially enjoyable as we were invited to a pre-theatre dinner at the university club.  The dinner conversation was particularly animated as Deb and Alex relayed stories about their time in the program and current faculty member Jennifer Roberts-Smith updated them on recent developments.  Pretty exciting times in the Drama department for sure.  Advancement Officer Patti Cook was able to describe the planned addition to Hagey Hall which sounds like a space with exciting potential.

I look forward to making a donation to support this initiative.  The play was an equal delight.  Rhinoceros was as fun as it was absurd  … and the bonus was that the Theatre of the Arts is a much more comfortable space following the recent renos.   According to Alex and Deb the sound system is much improved from their days in the Theatre, as the soundscape was a wonderful character of its own!

Enjoying the efforts of the talented students, staff, and faculty that make Theatre Night happen is a much appreciated tradition that we are happy to support.
