Wow what a year it has been! Our team has been keeping busy all year excitedly providing our valued alumni all the engagement opportunities we could think of.

This year we had one of our best Reunion’s ever with over 4000 attendees as alumni came back with family and friends to revisit, reunite, and relive their Waterloo days.

For a full recap of the day, visit the Reunion storify and check out the photos.

We had successful summer and fall convocations and once again our team felt privileged to witness some of Waterloo’s newest graduates embark on their journey of becoming a Waterloo alumnus. Thank you to everyone who participated in the “CONVO-sation” Twitter wall during the ceremonies congratulating all the new graduates. Your messages of encouragement and congratulations made us laugh and cry sometimes at the same time!

This year President, Feridun Hamdullahpur joined a full house of alumni in Seoul, South Korea on October 16 to celebrate the official launch of the university’s Korea alumni chapter.

The Korea alumni chapter joins eight other Waterloo chapters that encompass alumni living in Western Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore.  Our chapters keep growing and it is amazing for us in Alumni Relations to witness.

All of these big and exciting events aside, one of the best parts of being on the University of Waterloo Alumni Relations team, is getting to engage with all of you, our amazing alumni.  Imagine being on a team where every single day you get to come into work and hear story after story about the amazing things our alumni are doing to change communities, people’s lives and the world.

It humbles us all on this team to know we are a part of something great, something big. And it is all because our alumni make us proud to say we are Alumni Relations for the University of Waterloo.

From our team to you and your family, we wish you the happiest holidays and a wonderful New Year.
