UWaterloo Co-op’s Contribution to Cancer Discovery

If you were to ask me where I saw myself in the future during my first year at the University of Waterloo, I most definitely would have had a different answer than what my reality is today.

My name is Abilasha Rao and I started my journey into biological research in 2010 as a UWaterloo undergraduate, and since then it’s been quite the ride.

Last week marked the University of Waterloo’s 108^th convocation. Hundreds of graduates crossed the stage to receive their degree, beginning a new chapter in their lives as alumni of the University of Waterloo. These new graduates are now part of the UWaterloo alumni community which is a family of over 169,000. Welcome to the club our newest alumni!

The Waterloo Way to Being an Alumnus

Previously, I was a co-op student in the Alumni Relations office and one of my main responsibilities was managing and supporting event logistics for convocation. While it wasn’t my time to cross the stage, I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team bringing the university community together to celebrate this milestone in the lives of Waterloo’s newest graduates.
