Alumni chapters offer a wide variety of activities for local alumni and students abroad on co-op and exchange terms. The Beijing alumni chapter was proudly launched on November 10, 2010 and is recognized as the first University of Waterloo alumni chapter to be established in mainland China. We are planning exciting events and activities for the more than 130 local alumni and are pleased to welcome alumni who are new to Beijing.

University of Waterloo Calgary Alumni (UWAC) was launched on October 16, 2010 and hosts annual events in conjunction with Oktoberfest and the Calgary Stampede. The New York alumni chapter was launched on October 16, 2010 with a great event in Manhattan. We host an annual event in conjunction with the Terry Fox Run in Central Park and are always looking for fun and exciting ways to engage the more than 1000 Waterloo alumni who call New York home.

The Toronto Chapter was officially launched on April 30, 2019. With over 50,000 alumni living or working in the city and surrounding areas, this is our largest concentration of alumni in a region. San Francisco Bay
The San Francisco Bay alumni chapter was launched on November 11, 2010. Although an industry standard now, we took an innovative step at the time by announcing our first event using social media. We're looking forward to continuing to plan great events and networking opportunities for the more than 2150 alumni in the San Francisco bay area.

University President Feridun Hamdullahpur proudly launched the Korean alumni chapter on October 16, 2013 in Seoul, South Korea in front of an audience that included His Excellency, David Chatterson, Canadian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea and Andrea Clements, First Secretary, Trade Commissioner, Market Access. As the university’s eighth alumni chapter, the Korea Alumni Chapter is dedicated to engaging the more than 120 alumni living in the country.
Collaborative efforts between the chapter and Waterloo’s Office of Advancement will continue to serve the more than 200 alumni living in the area.

The Singapore alumni chapter was launched on November 8, 2010 and is proudly recognized as the first University of Waterloo alumni chapter to be formally launched in Asia. In addition to hosting an annual networking event, this group is continuously working to plan exciting events for the more than 230 alumni living and working in the country.
The chapter recently developed a very useful "Welcome to Singapore Guide " for all students traveling there on exchange or for a co-op work term. Be sure to check out this very thoughtful resource before your visit.
