As a part of our Global Alumni Volunteer Network, our Chapters can currently be found in 10 cities around the world. Alumni chapters offer a wide variety of activities for local alumni and students abroad on co-op and exchange terms. From career panels to global Canada Day celebrations, Waterloo grads are staying connected to Waterloo by getting involved in an alumni community beyond Ring Road.

The Beijing alumni chapter was proudly launched on November 10, 2010 and is recognized as the first University of Waterloo alumni chapter to be established in mainland China. We are planning exciting events and activities for the more than 130 local alumni and are pleased to welcome alumni who are new to Beijing.

Calgary
University of Waterloo Calgary Alumni (UWAC) was launched on October 16, 2010 and hosts annual events in conjunction with Oktoberfest and the Calgary Stampede. As an energetic group, the chapter is always looking for other fun ways to engage the more than 3000 Waterloo alumni that call Calgary home.

Toronto (GTA)
The Toronto Chapter was officially launched on April 30, 2019. With over 50,000 alumni living or working in the city and surrounding areas, this is our largest concentration of alumni in a region. This chapter offers a unique opportunity for alumni programing and connecting with students. The group is looking forward to connecting with as many alumni as possible! Seoul
University President Feridun Hamdullahpur proudly launched the Korean alumni chapter on October 16, 2013 in Seoul, South Korea in front of an audience that included His Excellency, David Chatterson, Canadian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea and Andrea Clements, First Secretary, Trade Commissioner, Market Access. As the university’s eighth alumni chapter, the Korea Alumni Chapter is dedicated to engaging the more than 120 alumni living in the country.
Collaborative efforts between the chapter and Waterloo’s Office of Advancement will continue to serve the more than 200 alumni living in the area.

Singapore
The Singapore alumni chapter was launched on November 8, 2010 and is proudly recognized as the first University of Waterloo alumni chapter to be formally launched in Asia. In addition to hosting an annual networking event, this group is continuously working to plan exciting events for the more than 230 alumni living and working in the country.
The chapter recently developed a very useful "Welcome to Singapore Guide " for all students traveling there on exchange or for a co-op work term. Be sure to check out this very thoughtful resource before your visit.
