Ran Jia is a visiting scholar at the Big Data Research Lab. In the past years, she has also been a research assistant at Harvard University and in the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).
Majoring in Statistics, Ran has a keen interest in data science, and aims to be a data scientist. Her favorite saying is "A data scientist is someone who is better at statistics than any software engineer and better at software engineering than any statistician.” —John Wills
Ran has a variety of research interests in solving practical data problems in the real world. During her work at the Boston Consulting Group, she has involved in different industries and triggered her thinking about data-driven solutions to practical problems.
