William Chan
Clinician-in-Residence (2025-2026)
Dr. William Chan is a cardiac electrophysiologist and staff cardiologist at WRHN @ Queen’s Blvd. He earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto and completed subspecialty training in adult cardiac electrophysiology, building expertise in the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and is dedicated to delivering patient-focused cardiovascular care and advancing arrhythmia treatment in the community. In addition to his clinician practice, Dr. Chan has collaborated with clinicians, engineers, researchers, and industry leaders to research and develop technology to advance procedural efficiency, safety, and digital integration in cardiac rhythm management.
Cynthia Lennon
Clinician-in-Residence (2025-2026)
Cynthia Lennon is a Clinician-in-Residence in the biomedical engineering program, bringing 20 years of experience as an occupational therapist practicing in pediatric rehabilitation. In her role as Clinical Innovation Specialist at KidsAbility’s Rocket Discovery Centre, Cynthia is dedicated to translating research into clinical practice and partnering with researchers, clinicians and families to drive meaningful research in the clinical context. Her interests include assistive technology—particularly access technology for communication aids—and innovative models of care that support family engagement, enhance the rehabilitation experience, and improve outcomes for children and youth.
Christy Goossen
Clinician-in-Residence (2024-2025)
Dr. Christy Goossen is an anesthesiologist at Waterloo Region Health Network (WRHN) hospitals. She graduated from Queen's University School of Medicine and worked as a general practitioner in New Brunswick. She completed anesthesia training at the University of Toronto and Western University. In addition to her work as an anesthesiologist and anesthesia consultant, she has taught medical students and anesthesia residents at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and McMaster University School of Medicine. She is passionate and curious about medicine, and enjoys fostering excitement for the practice with students.
