Scholarships are based on academic excellence and academic contributions. Awards are based on financial need and other criteria such as leadership, community service, and academic excellence. Bursaries are based on financial need.
Featured scholarships and awards for Biomedical Engineering Students
Baylis MedTech Capstone Design Award
Six awards, valued at $5,000 each, will be provided to student groups undertaking a Fourth-Year Capstone Design Project in any program in the Faculty of Engineering. Selection to be based on project proposals that, in the opinion of the judges, demonstrate a healthcare/biomedical focus.
CJ Moore Memorial Award for Biomedical Engineering
An award, valued at up to $8,000 over 8 academic terms, will be awarded to a deserving full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year One of the Biomedical Engineering program.
Lau Engineering Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $2,000, will be awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Two of Biomedical Engineering on the basis of academic achievement (minimum 80% cumulative average) at the end of Year One.
Paldus Scholarship
An entrance scholarship for first-year Biomedical Engineering students valued at $20,000 donated from Barbara Paldus (BASc ’93 Electrical Engineering, BMATH ’93) in memory of her father, Josef Paldus, Distinguished Professor Emeritus in Applied Mathematics.
