Science and Policy Advisory Board Mandate:

To ensure that the knowledge produced by the Can-Peat project is transferred to those who can put it into practice.

Members:

Dianna Kopansky (United Nations Environment Programme), Marie-Claire LeBlanc (Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss Association), Ronnie Drever (Nature United), Kathleen Groenewegen (Government of the Northwest Territories), Lee Fedorchuk (Government of Manitoba), Kara Webster (Natural Resources Canada), Scott Davidson (University of Plymouth), Sara Knox (University of British Columbia)

Indigenous Advisory Council Mandate:

To ensure that the Can-Peat project works towards empowering Indigenous data sovereignty through the creation of a peatland knowledge resource platform to support Canadian peatland management.

Members (confirmed to date):

Dean O’Gorman (Sapo’nuk Sustainability), Fred Didzena (Dene Tha’ First Nation)

To meet these mandates, we are committed to facilitating an iterative and interactive process of knowledge sharing throughout the duration of the project. Advisory councils will meet twice a year to provide advice and recommendations.
