In order to build a trend line of wellbeing data over time, it is hoped that a collaborative of interested organizations in communities will engage the CIW to survey a random sample of households every five years. Waterloo Region and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo are leading this charge. Both conducted their first community wellbeing surveys in 2013 and 2014, respectively. In 2018 and 2019, both communities conducted their second survey, creating the opportunity to start looking at trends in wellbeing at two points in time. This rich source of up-to-date data, allows these communities to be nimble -- making evidence-based changes that reflect the current needs of residents.
