Prices for CPCC services have remained stable since 2012 for Non-profit customers and since 2015 for Commercial customers. Therefore, fee increases for all CPCC services will take effect on January 10, 2022 for all new orders.

Please note that as of Monday, May 1, 2017, the base Shipping & Handling fee for Canadian shipments on all new orders placed with the Canadian Phycological Culture Centre will be increasing from $20 to $25. Prices for larger volumes will also increase accordingly at a rate of $5 per additional L. Please see our updated List of Fees on May 1 for more details. We thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Effective Monday, September 21, 2015, the commercial cost for cultures will be increasing by CAD $5 for 15 and 30 mL volumes and by CAD $10 for 45 mL, 100 mL, 200 mL, and 500 mL volumes. Website Update

The Canadian Phycological Culture Centre (CPCC) is pleased to announce some great changes to our website. Our goal with these changes is to make your online culture ordering experience more convenient.

Canada’s Economic Action Plan 2012 resulted in a moratorium being placed upon the NSERC Major Resource Support (MRS) grant. NSERC programs under various names have supplied partial financial support for the CPCC since 1989, with the MRS grant being the most recent program. As a result of this financial support, we were able to provide significant discounts for non-profit users. With the loss of this funding from the Canadian Federal Government, the CPCC is currently relying solely upon user fees for revenue.

Consultation fees

Due to the frequency of telephone and email requests for detailed information we are implementing a consultation fee for this service. There will now be a charge for time spent on these consultations in excess of 15 minutes at a rate of $48/hour for non-profit clients and $60/hour for commercial clients billed in 15 minute increments.  Thank you for your understanding and for using CPCC services.

Shipping cultures

In order that you receive healthy, viable cultures we  try to avoid shipping when weather conditions are extremely cold or hot. Our guidelines are to postpone shipments when the maximum daytime temperatures are over 28 C  and overnight temperatures are lower than minus 15 C in the Waterloo, ON area or in the destination area. We will make every effort to ensure that the cultures are well packed to avoid freezing or overheating. If your need is urgent and the weather is unfavourable, we will try to accommodate your preferred schedule but this is at your own risk.
