The Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement is a dynamic space on the University of Waterloo campus, home to peace-oriented innovators, and established organizations from the regions vibrant peace-building field. The goal of advancing peace is the lifeblood of the Centre for Peace Advancements unique working community. The Centre for Peace Advancement stands as a bridge between campus and community, academics and practice, and faith and justice.

UWaterloo operates the world's largest co-operative education program, and now supports a wide array of student entrepreneurship opportunities. In addition to being the home of countless cutting-edge tech companies, our surrounding community has nurtured significant social innovations in areas such as restorative justice, poverty alleviation, and refugee resettlement.
Events
DRAFTS 6–Mapping Diasporic Identities
This exhibit brings together six artists whose works explore cultural heritage, migration, and the layered realities of life in the diaspora. Wen Li, Tazeen Qayyum, Paria Shahverdi, JJ Lee, and Faseeh Saleem. Together, their works invite viewers to re-imagine belonging, memory, and the ways stories are preserved, reshaped, and shared across borders. It will be open from Thursday, October 2 to Saturday, February 28.

Peace for all Canada, one of the ventures in the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement’s Grebel Peace Incubator, envisions a society of collective and prosperous communities, and displays these values through their thorough and continuous work.

How can community bonds be developed in big cities like Kitchener-Waterloo? At Grand River Friendship Society (GRFS), their mission is to develop a sense of unity, friendship, and cultural identity among community members, creating a more harmonious and just society.
Uniting Stories of the Diaspora: Mapping Diasporic Identities Launch
How can diasporic experiences inspire and encourage different pieces of art? Last week the new Grebel Gallery exhibit, DRAFTS 6: Mapping Diasporic Identities, had its launch. With over 50 people engaging with the art and reflecting on diasporic experiences, this launch had room for everybody.
