The Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement is at the forefront of efforts to unite peace and social innovation, and Director Paul Heidebrecht had the opportunity to speak about this movement in a panel presentation at the 2019 Ashoka U Exchange in San Diego, California.

Conrad Grebel University College is excited to be launching its new PeaceTech Living Learning Community in the Fall of 2019. Open to Grebel students in any academic program and in any year of their undergraduate degree, this community will explore the intersection of peacebuilding and technology—critically reflecting on the social impact of technology, and fostering the creation of “tech for good.”

Team accepting the Digital Products award From February 1 to 3, a team of students from Conrad Grebel University College participated in CBC/Radio-Canada’s Hackathon 2019. The hackathon focused on creating prototypes that would increase Canadians’ engagement with CBC/Radio-Canada’s digital platforms.

The Epp Peace Incubator program at the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement defines success broadly, with participants working in a variety of ways to make a positive impact. Marlena Books joined this program in January, 2016, and now, 3 years later, is generating ongoing revenue through book sales and their recently launched App.
