Radon: The radon block was developed along with a unit on radon awareness. Students found that radon contamination of homes in the Carbondale area can lead to the development of lung cancer. The gas cloud represents the fact that radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas; the crossed bones indicate the deadly nature of radon gas to human health.  The radioactivity of the element is indicated by the radura symbol.  This particular block was chosen from the submissions of many chemistry students.
