Krypton: Many DC comic book fans may think of krypton strictly as Superman’s home planet, but the krypton element is actually a valuable noble gas. It was discovered in 1898 by a pair of respected chemists, Sir William Ramsey and Morris Travers. In my tile representation of krypton, I tried to incorporate some subtle and obvious connections. First of all, there is a camera. This is because of krypton’s main practical application in high-speed flash photography. Second there are two photos of Sir Ramsay and Dr. Travers, the discoverers of krypton. And finally, we have the overall color scheme of red and blue that pay tribute to our favourite superhero.
