Ceremony dates and times

Spring 2024 Convocation: June 11 to 15, 2024

Degrees and diplomas will be conferred across a total of 14 ceremonies in June 2024. Find your ceremony by reviewing the ceremony details below. For faculties that have more than one ceremony, search for your degree (e.g., Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral) and then by major/field of study.

Notes

  • There are two or three ceremonies occurring each day. The times listed below are the official start time of the ceremony; however, the procession will begin 20 minutes earlier, to ensure everyone is seated by the ceremony start time. Guest doors will close 5 minutes before the ceremony begins. Late guests will be seated at an appropriate time during the ceremony, at the discretion of the event staff.
    • For 10:00 a.m. ceremonies: Procession starts at 9:40 a.m.
    • For 2:30 p.m. ceremonies: Procession starts at 2:10 p.m.
    • For 6:30 p.m. ceremonies: Procession starts at 6:10 p.m.
  • For students earning a degree with a diploma and/or certificate, the diploma and certificate are awarded in the ceremony where the degree is conferred.
  • Unsure which ceremony you should be attending or don't see your program listed? Contact the staff in the Registrar's Office or Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs.
  • The ceremony dates and times, as well as the programs scheduled in the list below, are subject to change. Be advised that all travel arrangements are made at your discretion. In the event that convocation must be rescheduled, any costs incurred for travel will not be covered by the University of Waterloo.
  • Registration to attend is mandatory for grads and their guests. Registration for Spring 2024 Convocation will open in May 2024.
