As the University of Waterloo responds to the COVID-19 pandemic, the well-being of our students, their families, and our campus community is our top priority. It is with great disappointment that we will not be holding any in-person ceremonies in June 2020. These are extraordinary times, and we do not make this decision lightly. Please refer to the convocation home page for more details.

Participation in the faculty procession

Faculty members, invited staff members and members of the Board of Governors and the Senate are invited to participate in convocation by taking part in the faculty procession. The faculty procession follows the student procession and precedes the chancellor's procession. Members of the faculty procession will sit on stage during the ceremony, space permitting.

Due to limited inventory, the convocation team is unable to provide gowns for members of the faculty procession. Faculty procession participants may arrange to rent black gowns through W Store

Where to queue for the faculty procession

Members of the faculty procession will meet in the robing room in the Physical Activities Complex (PAC), room 2021. Participants should arrive in the PAC robing room by 9:30 a.m. (morning ceremony), 2:00 p.m. (afternoon ceremony) or 6:00 p.m. (evening ceremony). Faculty procession participants will line up for the procession under the direction of the Faculty Robing Room Supervisor.
