Traditional Indigenous Regalia

This form is for graduating students who plan to wear traditional Indigenous regalia for their convocation ceremony.

In recognition and honour of the original nations and people of Turtle Island, the University of Waterloo respects the wishes of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit graduating students who choose to wear traditional regalia to a convocation ceremony.

All First Nations, Métis, and Inuit graduating students are welcome to wear traditional regalia in lieu of a convocation gown. You may also choose to wear your regalia under your gown. The choice is yours.

By signaling your plans to wear your traditional regalia, it allows convocation organizers, and the Office of Indigenous Relations know you are attending and can adequately plan and communicate details with you. Please indicate your intention to wear culturally traditional regalia by completing this form.

The University of Waterloo respects, honours, and welcomes your decision to wear your traditional regalia to this milestone ceremony.
