Subject: Compute Ontario survey on the future of Digital Research Infrastructure
The Governments of Canada and Ontario have recently announced significant funds for the renewal of Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI). Over $40 million will go towards refreshing the Graham Data Centre, which is housed at the University of Waterloo and provides CPU and GPU computing resources for researchers from across the country.
For future planning, Compute Ontario (CO) is conducting a survey on anticipated DRI needs, including elements of Advanced Research Computing, Data Management, and Research Software. CO is an agency funded by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities that brings together stakeholders in Ontario’s DRI ecosystem and coordinates efforts with the Digital Research Alliance of Canada.
As the University of Waterloo is a major contributor to Canada's DRI ecosystem, it is important that we hear from as many faculty colleagues as possible, across all disciplines.
The survey is open until October 25, 2024 and should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Participation in the survey is confidential and voluntary.
