Grad Student Self-Advocacy: Navigating Challenges with Confidence (Fall 2024)

Learn to navigate difficult situations by advocating for your needs.

Self-advocacy is the ability to communicate what your needs are. Throughout graduate school, you will encounter situations where you may need to articulate what is important to you and speak up for your needs and/or rights.

In this fun and friendly session, you will explore approaches students can use to navigate a variety of potentially challenging situations. The tips and skills discussed can be useful in engaging with faculty, peers, supervisors, and other members of the academic community. Hosted by two former graduate students, they will draw on their lived experiences and best practices in self-advocacy.

This is a virtual event.

This event is part of the GRADnavigate workshop series hosted by GSPA.
