The Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute is currently accepting poster submissions for their 2026 Graduate Student Conference.

The Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute, in partnership with Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs, is hosting the 2nd CPI Graduate Student Conference on March 30, 2026. This in-person conference showcases interdisciplinary graduate research at the intersection of cybersecurity and privacy and offers opportunities to receive feedback and connect with peers, faculty, and industry professionals.

The CPI 2026 Graduate Student Conference is open to graduate students from across Canada.

The Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute is seeking topics related to cybersecurity and privacy, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary work that bridges these fields with other domains. Potential poster topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Security and privacy in data science

  • Human and societal aspects of security and privacy

  • Cryptography and quantum-safe communication

  • Network security

  • Software, hardware, and systems security

How to submit

Interested applicants must submit a PDF poster and a written abstract (up to 200 words) to ccpi@uwaterloo.ca, including the poster title, supervisor (if applicable), and school/faculty affiliation. Posters may present future research proposals or preliminary/recent results (within the last 12 months). Up to 30 posters will be accepted.

Poster format

48" × 36" (portrait or landscape); poster paper preferred.

  • Poster & abstract deadline: February 20, 2026 (5:00 p.m. EST)

  • Notification: March 3, 2026

  • Registration deadline: March 10, 2026

  • Conference: March 30, 2026

Accepted poster presenters must attend the conference and be available for setup between 7:00 and 8:45 a.m. Unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to register as regular attendees for the conference.
