Much of the research, teaching and learning in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences takes place on the traditional territories of Indigenous Peoples. The University of Waterloo main campus is located on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples, and is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes 6 miles on each side of the Grand River.
