Every year the Earth Sciences Museum participates in the Waterloo Region Children’s Groundwater Festival.
World Water Day on March 22 is about focusing attention on the use and importance of water. This year's theme is "Nature and Climate Change", to explore how water and climate change are closely linked. To learn more about what you can do on World Water Day and beyond, check out the websites below!
On April 19, come celebrate Earth Day at Homer Watson Park! After a park clean up, there will be hands on activities available to help you learn about our environment. The Earth Sciences Museum will be there with our 3D sandbox to teach about watersheds!

Join us in the Earth Sciences Museum on Saturday October 15th for free fun drop-in programs for kids and their families! Our staff will offer the same Dinosaurs and Fossils program twice in the same day. Once in the morning starting at 10:30 am and again in the afternoon at 2:00 pm.

Join us in the Earth Sciences Museum on Friday November 18th for free fun drop-in programs for kids and their families! We will be hosting two sessions during the day. Dinosaurs and Fossils program in the morning and afternoon.
The Museum will be open to the public from 10:00 - 2:00 on Feburary 20th for Family Day. Feel free to drop in and explore our activity tables, touchable dinosaur fossils and view mineral exhibits. Activity tables will be open to families of all ages.
Join us on Friday, May 5th for a tour of the Peter Russell Rock Garden. Located in the heart of campus, the rock garden contains 80 specimens from around the globe. Participants will learn about the history of Earth, mines and minerals of Canada as well as the unique rock structures of Ontario.
The 1.5 hour tour will be led by the Earth Sciences Museum curator emeritus Peter Russell.
The tour will be from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM and will begin and end at University of Waterloo, Parking Lot C (off of Seagram Drive). The walk includes paved surfaces throughout the campus and there is accessible parking available closer to the rock garden (pickup a ticket from Parking Services located on Ring Road).
The Earth Sciences Museum will be hosting kids activities at the Ancaster Gem, Mineral, Bead & Jewellery Show!
