The ELI Peer Helper program is your chance to meet new people from around the world while helping them practise their English! As a Peer Helper, you will join students during class-time for our General English at Renison (GEAR) program. GEAR helps students improve their English while experiencing Waterloo's unique innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
We will be offering our Winter session of GEAR from February 24 to March 21, 2025. Your volunteer experience will consist of joining the students during their English language classes for approximately five hours per week. During classes, you will engage with the students during class activities and help them practise their English language skills. If you choose, you have the option of joining our students for fun events outside of class time, giving you even more chances to build your cross-cultural skills.
All volunteers who complete their commitment with Renison ELI will receive a letter of recognition for their volunteer service - great for your resume!
