Finding out who is enrolled in your section or tutorial
Through Quest (GIs only)
To find out who is enrolled in your course prior to the creation of your LEARN site, do the following:
- Go to Quest's Faculty and Staff Sign In page.
- Click the Faculty and staff sign in to Quest button.
- Log in with your UWaterloo credentials.
- Click Class Roster.
- Click the appropriate term and then course. A list of your students is displayed that includes the students' departments and year levels.
Note that you can download a copy of the class list by clicking the Download button. To download all the information in the class list, choose "I want a *.csv copy of this Class Roster" without the Electronic Grades option, which is used to submit your final marks.
Through LEARN (TAs and GIs)
You can access the class list in LEARN via the Classlist tool.
Admission requests from students (GIs only)
You may receive emails from students who cannot register for your course because it is full, because they lack prerequisites, or because there are course reserves in place. Do not manually admit students yourself in these cases. Instead, ask the student to put their name on the department's course waiting list, giving details about their situation. The undergraduate coordinator will review their request and act on it, contacting you if necessary.
Producing a photo class list using LEARN
If you have a LEARN site associated with your course, you can produce a class list that includes the WatCard photos of your students to help you learn their names. Do the following:
- On your course home page, click Course Admin (upper right of window).
- Click Widgets.
- Click on the magnifying glass icon to the right of Course Tools.
- Click Instructor Tools.
- Click Photo Class List for all sections.
