At UW Food Services, we pride ourselves on serving fresh, house-made, delicious food created by Red Seal Certified chefs and cooks.  Food Services prioritizes the campus community's needs and we work closely with them to help create healthy, nourishing foods you will enjoy.  We have a registered dietitian on staff to support the community members in making informed and nutritious food choices.

 


  1. June 21, 2021Congratulations Ivan - Again!

    Our very own Apprentice Chef, Ivan Milenovic participated in the 2021 International Salon Culinaire competition in London, UK. This is the most prestigious competition in the UK with a 120 year tradition. Out of 500 international chefs, Chef Ivan’s dish won the bronze medal for the Lamb Challenge.  Congratulations!

    Young Chef of the Year 2020 awarded to our own 2nd year culinary apprentice - Ivan Milenovic!

    We are all so proud to have Ivan as part of the UW Food Services team.  His hard work, passion and dedication has been noticed by the Canadian Culinary Federation of Chefs and Cooks!  They have awarded him the 'Young Chef of the Year' award!  He will recieve his award at a ceremony this September in London, ON.

    Introduction

    This is the way that I prepare steak for myself and my wife at home. It is not the traditional way of cooking a steak, but the results are great. Any kind of steak can be cooked this way. If you decide to use a larger cut of meat (10 oz or more, or Tomahawk steak) you should consider using an oven in combination with a stove for cooking.

    Introduction

    Growing up one of my favorite cookies was called a haystack, the recipe had lots of butter and sugar.  This new version of an old classic replaces the butter with coconut oil and the sugar with honey. It is a super easy recipe and can be stored in the freezer so when you get that sweet craving you can just grab one to satisfy.
