In collaboration with community partners, the Future Cities Institute hosted a BUILD NOW: Waterloo Region design workshop focused on improving access to safe housing for immigrants in Waterloo Region.
The session connected participants directly with the BUILD NOW team to share feedback on housing design, neighbourhood planning, and community amenities, with a deliberate focus on the practical needs of newcomers. Participants shaped early-stage ideas for what will become the region's largest affordable housing development, bringing community knowledge into the design process at a stage where it can still make a difference.
