FCI member Jennifer Dean presents transportation research to federal table on healthy cities
Future Cities Institute (FCI) member Professor Jennifer Dean was recently invited to present her research on active and sustainable transportation to the Federal Table on Healthy Cities. Professor Dean highlighted the critical challenges associated with developing a strong evidence base to guide decision-making around emerging micro-mobility technologies, such as e-bikes and e-scooters.
The Federal Table on Healthy Cities is dedicated to enhancing collaboration among federal departments, agencies, and federally-funded organizations to amplify the health-promoting potential of urban environments. The Table provides a platform for sharing insights, aligning strategic goals, and identifying collaborative opportunities aimed at healthier, more sustainable cities.
Professor Dean’s presentation underscored the importance of reliable data and research in shaping policies that support safe, effective, and sustainable urban mobility solutions. Her insights contribute directly to the Table’s mission of fostering informed, coordinated federal action to promote urban health.
