Upcoming changes to Duo two-factor authentication service - March 20
What is happening? The following changes will be made to the University’s Duo two-factor authentication (2FA) service:
- Passcodes from the Duo Mobile App will no longer be an option when authenticating to 2FA-protected web applications.
- Verified Push will be enabled for all applications.
What is Verified Push? When a client logs on to a 2FA-protected service, a 3-digit code will be displayed on their login screen, which then must then be entered by the client on their authentication device to approve the Duo Push request. This ensures clients cannot accidentally approve login requests when they are not actively logging in to the application. Visit the IST Knowledge Base to learn more.
When is this happening? Wednesday, March 20, between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.
