Request Tracker (RT) server migration for Math Faculty users and queues
UPDATE: December 10. We have switched from RT4 hosted by IST to RT5 hosted by Math. The new website is https://rt.math.uwaterloo.ca. Some minor things still need to be adjusted -- we're working on it. Here are two tips:
- If you interact with RT via email, rather than the web interface, and you try to reply to email from a ticket that originated in RT4, your reply will be addressed to RT4. RT4 no longer has any of the Math tickets in it. Before you click "Send", edit the "To" field so that instead of saying rt@rt.uwaterloo.ca as the recipient, it says rt-math@uwaterloo.ca
- If you click on a link to an RT ticket in email from RT4, the URL will refer to RT4 and fail. Edit the URL in your browser search bar so that it says "rt.math.uwaterloo.ca" instead of "rt.uwaterloo.ca"
UPDATE: Thursday Dec. 5, The transition attempt on Tuesday this week did not succeed. The dates and times in the announcement below have been revised to show the next attempt.
When is this happening? The original RT server (rt.uwaterloo.ca) will be down for maintenance beginning Monday, December 9th at 6:00 pm. The following morning, December 10th, RT data will be migrated from the original IST server to the new server (rt.math.uwaterloo.ca) for all Math-faculty users and queues.
Who is impacted: All faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students, and staff in the Faculty of Math, including the School of Computer Science.
What is the impact? The ability to open new tickets and reply to existing tickets will be unavailable until the migration is completed.
What do you need to do?
December 9, before 6:00 pm: You can use MFCF's instance of IST's rt.uwaterloo.ca as normal.
On December 9, after 6:00 pm but before noon on December 10: Refrain from any RT usage during this time.
On December 10, late afternoon: You can resume normal RT usage on the new server at rt.math.uwaterloo.ca.
Tickets may also be opened on the new server via email using rt-math-mfcf@uwaterloo.ca (MFCF queue), or via the (new) request form at https://rt.math.uwaterloo.ca/SelfService/Forms/MFCF
