Dr. Sol Pound

Dr. Sol Pound is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and completed her residency at Reach Out Centre for Kids (ROCK). She has worked in hospitals, community-based mental health centres, schools, and private practices. She currently works at Kitchener Psychology Centre and at the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) and serves as a clinical adjunct supervisor at the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Pound is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She provides consultation and treatment services for children and adolescents with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, behavioural issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder, developmental concerns, and learning issues. She has a special interest in working collaboratively with parents to help them understand the emotions, needs, and skill deficits behind their child’s behaviour and engage in parenting approaches that foster connection, structure, and the development of skills. She has training and experience in a variety of intervention styles including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based interventions, attachment theory, and positive parenting approaches. Dr. Pound integrates her knowledge of these approaches to best suit the unique needs of each individual client.

Dr. Pound also conducts comprehensive psycho-educational and psychological assessments with preschoolers, school-age children, adolescents, and young adults for a variety of presenting problems including Learning Disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other developmental and mental health concerns.
