Dr. Sol Pound

Dr. Sol Poundis a Clinical Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and completed her residency at the Reach Out Centre for Kids (ROCK). Dr. Pound has extensive experience working in hospitals, community-based mental health centers, schools, and private practices. She currently serves as the Clinical Director at MindSteps Psychology, a private practice in Waterloo, and is also a clinical adjunct supervisor at the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Pound is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She provides consultation and treatment services for various concerns, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social difficulties, behavioral issues, and learning challenges. She has a special interest in collaborating with parents to help them understand the emotions, needs, and skill deficits behind their child’s behavior, fostering emotional connection while supporting skill development. Dr. Pound is trained in a variety of intervention styles, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). She integrates her knowledge of these approaches to best meet the unique needs of each client.

In addition, Dr. Pound conducts comprehensive psycho-educational and diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults. These assessments address a range of presenting problems, including learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and other mental health issues.
