Their presentation was well delivered, informative, creative and very validating for these young athletes. They shared important information about the causes of stress, the importance of self-care early on in the stress cycle and various practical ways of coping.
A special note of thanks to Dr. Chris Lane, an adjunct faculty with the University of Waterloo for his generous consultation with our presenters. Dr. Lane is a psychologist who works with elite athletes to help prepare them for competition. His input was extremely helpful in understanding the unique stressors face by athletes.
Our students continue to impress in their knowledge, understanding and ability to communicate these important concepts to the public. Their passion for our field of work is impressive.
