John McPhee, Professor of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo and the Canada Research Chair in Biomechatronic System Dynamics, has been elected as part of the incoming class of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) Fellows for his outstanding scholarly achievements, the highest honour in the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Sciences. Congratulations!

PDF researcher AliAsghar MohammadiNasrabadi won the Best Paper Award at the 2025 North American
Spine Society (NASS) International Annual Meeting for his work on "Automated Lenke classification for preoperative spine surgery by extracting anatomical landmarks from X-ray images using a deep learning approach." Congratulations!

MASc candidate Vasylysa Korovkina presented her research on "Active Swimming Prosthesis with IMU-based Wrist Control" at the 47th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC 2025).

Professor John McPhee delivered the keynote address "Predictive Dynamic Simulation and Model-based Control of Biomechatronic Systems" at the 49th Congress of the Society of Biomechanics in Compiègne, France.
