| Abstract |
A one-dimensional physics-based mathematical model is developed for compressible flow, pressure drop, and filtration process in diesel particulate filters under a transient loading. Employing a modified orthogonal collocation method and the symbolic computation in Maple(TM), the developed model is reduced to a control-oriented model governed by ordinary differential equations which can be solved in real time. Numerical examples indicate the accuracy and computational efficiency of the developed model.
|
