#OlympicExposure: A Discussion of the Humanitarian Impacts of Sochi2014Export this event to calendar

Friday, March 14, 2014 — 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM EDT

PACS Student Society invites you to join us for a discussion about the relationship between the Olympics and human rights.

Olympic exposure

The Olympic Games have long been a symbol of international unity and peace, but this year there has been much controversy over the games at Sochi, ranging from unfinished hotel rooms to unjust labour conditions to protests about Russia's anti-LGBTQ laws. What is the responsibility of the Olympic committee when it comes to human rights? What is the impact on Russia of the games being held in Sochi?

We'll be discussing these questions and more and we dive deeper into the Olympic Games and their Humanitarian Impacts.

There will be free appetizers!!!! :)

If you have any questions that you want us to discuss, tweet them at @pacssoc #olympicexposure. Also check out our facebook event page.
