Artist Talk "On the Land" by Bangishimo
Location: Outdoor pathway beside Grebel’s Great Hall.
Bangishimo is an IndigiQueer Anishinaabe photographer originally from Couchiching First Nations. They are a community organizer for Idle No More and co-founder of O:se Kenhionhata:tie, also known as Land Back Camp.
Bangishimo will be sharing their journey into the world of photography, how they created "On the Land" and some of the projects they are currently working on.
On the Land is a portrait series that answers the question “What does it mean or what has it meant to live on this Indigenous territory?” In this pandemic era, many of us are trying to find a place where we feel safe and belong. Now is the time to reflect and ask yourself this question.
Where do we go to talk about our everyday traumatic experiences that we do not believe are worthy of sharing?
The Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement will be hosting a Virtual Opportunities Fair on October 27, 2020, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. This event will give you the opportunity to learn about internship, co-op, and engagement opportunities the Centreand organizations connected to it will offer in 2020 and 2021, as well as the chance to connect and engage with professionals in the peacebuilding field.
The Master of Peace and Conflict Studies program is a dynamic degree that focuses on careers in the field of peacebuilding. The department will be hosting an information session for interested students on Monday, December 2nd at 5:30PM.
There are so many ways to enhance your PACS degree with different experiential learning opportunities! Incorporating these elements into your degree will provide you with additional skills and experience, and help your degree stand out once you graduate. Snacks will be provided!
