The iEFAS Peer Mentor program is your chance to "pay it forward" and help students just like you! As you know, new students have many questions before they start their English studies in iEFAS and their 2+2 studies at the University of Waterloo. Some of these questions are about the program itself, while other questions are about Renison, UWaterloo, and life in Canada. As a Peer Mentor, you can help support new iEFAS students by sharing your wisdom and advice on the best ways to prepare for life as a university student.
As an iEFAS Peer Mentor, you will be assigned a small group of new iEFAS students to support. You will be available through email, as well as texting apps like WeChat, to answer students' questions about preparing for iEFAS. If you live near Waterloo, you also have the option of meeting our students in-person during Renison events. The iEFAS Peer Mentor program is an eight-week commitment. Once you have completed your committment, you will receive a letter of recognition that can be used as proof of volunteer experience.
To register, please complete the form below. Once we receive your registration, we will contact you with instructions for completing your Peer Mentor training. The deadline to register is June 21, 2026.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email Andrew Dixon, Renison's Learning Skills Advisor, and he will be happy to help.
