Marketing & Recruitment Assistant - Casual Staff (3 positions)
Job Title: Casual Student Staff – Marketing and Recruitment Assistant
Location: Renison University College at the University of Waterloo
Hours: Casual, up to 10 hours/week (as needed, based on scheduled tours or departmental needs)
Overview
Renison University College at the University of Waterloo is seeking enthusiastic and outgoing student ambassadors to join our casual student staff team. In this role, you'll support the Marketing and Recruitment Office in showcasing Renison to prospective students, families, and partners through campus tours, social media engagement, and content development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead academic and residence tours as part of Renison's formal campus visit program
- Assist with filming and editing marketing and promotional video content
- Participate in social media planning, content development, and scheduling
- Conduct basic market research and contribute to data analysis projects
- Represent Renison as an ambassador at on-campus events or activities as needed
Qualifications
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Friendly, social, and welcoming demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Comfortable initiating conversations and building rapport with visitors
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram
- Experience with basic video editing tools (e.g., Canva, iMovie, or CapCut)
Additional Details
- Tours are scheduled Monday to Friday from 10:30–11:30 a.m. and 1:30–2:30 p.m.
- During March Break Tours are scheduled Monday to Friday from 10:30-11:30 am. 12:30 -1:30 pm and 2:30 – 3:30 pm.
- Casual hours are not guaranteed and depend on bookings and staffing needs
- Up to three casual staff and several work-study students will be hired to share responsibilities
