The March of 1,000 Umbrellas

Join us on Thursday, September 14^th for the United Way Waterloo Region Communities March of 1,000 Umbrellas – a 3 km walk from Waterloo City Hall in Waterloo to Carl Zehr Square in Kitchener. From there, enjoy a complimentary lunch and entertainment

Let's march together - join the UWaterloo group at the University of Waterloo sign, between South campus hall (SCH) and Tatham Centre (TC) at 10:25am and begin the march to Waterloo City Hall. If you have one, bring your black and gold umbrella to show off your UWaterloo spirit!

The schedule is as follows:

• 10:30am – Meet at University of Waterloo sign on UWaterloo campus in the Arts Quad

• 11:15am – Gather at Waterloo City Hall (100 Regina St S, Waterloo)

• 11:30am – Begin marching towards Carl Zehr Square

• 12:05pm – March arrives at Carl Zehr Square (200 King St W, Kitchener)

• 12:15pm – Entertainment

• 12:35pm – Lunch

• 12:55pm – Greetings from United Way Waterloo Region Communities

• 1:00pm – Event ends, begin to travel back to UWaterloo campus

• 1:30-2:00pm - Estimate time for arriving back to UWaterloo campus

*As this march takes place during the workday, please be sure to discuss this activity with your manager prior to the event.

This march kicks off the United Way's fundraising campaign and is an incredible display of community, support, and awareness of the positive impact the United Way has on the Waterloo Region.
