Sight depends on the generation of naturally occurring electrical activity in the eyes and the transmission of these signals to the brain.
Electrodiagnostic tests record electrical activity either from the eye or from the vision centre of the brain by the use of recording sensors resting on the scalp or near the eye. These tests can be useful in the diagnosis of certain diseases of the visual system.
The specialized tests offered in our clinic include:
- Electroretinogram (ERG)
- Electro-Oculogram (EOG)
- Visually Evoked Potential (VEP)
Test protocols followed in our clinic are consistent with standards set by the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision (ISCEV).
