About
Amer Obeidi received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering, M.A.Sc. degree in management sciences, and Ph.D. degree in systems design engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 1990, 2002, and 2006, respectively.,Capitalizing on his passion to teaching and the many years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, systems design, and management, he runs a private consulting company, which provides an assortment of business consulting services to managers, executives, and business owners to help them achieve their professional objectives. From 2007 to 2013, he held a faculty position at the Department of Management Sciences, University of Waterloo. Since 2013, he has been holding adjunct professor appointments with the Department of Systems Design Engineering, Department of Management Sciences, and School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED), Faculty of Environment, University of Waterloo. He has applied formal techniques to real life conflicts in Chechnya and North Korea, and to First Nations conflicts in Canada. His research has been published in systems engineering, operations research, and group decision and negotiation journals. His current research interests include developing game-theoretic methodologies based on perceptual and adaptive systems thinking approaches in the area of multiple-participant and multiple-objective decision making, designing perceptual structures, and mathematical theories that reconcile emotion, perception, and strategy in decision-making.
