Elizabeth Jewkes
About
Beth Jewkes is a Professor in the Department of Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo. Her general research interests fall into the broad area of operations research models of manufacturing and healthcare systems. More specifically, her research deals with topics such as "real world" academic course scheduling, applications of queueing theory and optimization to ambulance location/relocation issues and ambulance offload delays.
In addition to her research, Dr. Jewkes is the co-author of the book “Engineering Economics: Financial Decision Making for Engineers”, (Pearson Education Canada) now in its 6th edition. Dr. Jewkes has served in various administrative positions at the University of Waterloo, including Associate Dean Computing (1996-2000), Chair of the Department of Management Sciences (2001-2010), and Associate Provost, Resources (2013-2017).
