Six WISE researchers, as well as four representatives from other Canadian institutions and organizations, took part in an Indo-Canada Workshop hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi on Electricity Generation using Renewable Energy held 9-10 October 2009.
Some members also attended an International Conference on Research Policy for Sustainable Energy 12-13 October 2009. This major conference, in collaboration with WISE and the Indian National Academy of Engineering in Delhi, was held to deliberate on all relevant issues to make sustainable energy realizable. The conference goal was to spur technology development and help its adaptation for societal applications. Presentations from stakeholders included academic and research institutions, industry, energy agencies, and utilities. Jatin Nathwani served on the international advisory committee. An exhibition showcased the systems, sub-systems, models and photographs relevant to the theme of the conference and provided an opportunity for business interaction with the audience from academia, R&D and industry.
