Resource Recovery Partnership Workshop 2016 was supported by the following partners: Canadian Plastics Industry Association, University of Waterloo, Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy, the Ontario Environment Industry Association, Columbia University, and Walker Environmental.
The goal of the workshop was to bring together stakeholders from the academic, government and private sectors to identify opportunities and barriers within Canada’s current resource recovery sector.
The content of the workshop focused on three current areas of need –
- Building a network to identify stakeholders
- Understanding existing data and increasing data availability and
- Building a funding base for resource recovery related research
At the Resource Recovery Partnership Workshop 2016, stakeholders from across Canada, the United States, and Europe came together to exchange insights on a vast range of issues, from changing trends in the world of waste, the role of waste management in mitigating GHGs, understanding the 3 Rs through to energy recovery.
