Title:
Six Nations participation in the energy transition
Abstract:
Canada’s energy transition goals share in the interests of Indigenous peoples, and as a result, we have a rare opportunity for collaboration in the pursuit of development that can lead to a better future for the next seven generations. Six Nations of the Grand River is the most populated First Nation in Canada and is often looked upon to play a leadership role in navigating complex challenges and opportunities. The presentation will contextualize and explore Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation’s journey outlining key factors of consideration in its formative years, discussing the key tenets of our successful operating model, and sharing our approach to enabling the community to advance its economic goals while staying true to our identity.
