The Wind Energy Group is currently involved in developing a monitoring system for a 30 kW wind turbine that we will operate in our local area. Detailed measurements are required over and above what is commonly measured on a wind turbine in the field. This will include blade loads, wind resource, blade pitch, and many other measurements. The monitoring will be designed to allow remote access and control. The project is sponsored by the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE).
