Our reseach team has developed expertise in the design of blades suitable for wind turbines. This effort includes preliminary design, analytical methods, simulations and considerations for manufacturability. Inhouse programs are used as well as NREL(National Renewable Energy Laboratory) supported codes such as PROPID and WTPERF. In some cases once the design is complete blades are fabricated from fiberglass and resin using molds CNC machined at the University. The blades are then mounted on a test turbine and evaluated in comparison to design predictions
