Week 13 Newsletter

Hello everybody to our weekly newsletter! We are on Week 11 of the Technovation Curriculum!

🏁 2 Weeks Until The Submission Deadline!

We are entering the homestretch of the Technovation challenge! Some things to remember when finishing up your projects:

  • You got this! Even if you do not think your project is perfect - SUBMIT
  • The pitch video is worth about one-third of your final score (the largest component - followed by the technical video and user adoption plan/business plan). Pro-tip: Show your passion for your project and what makes your team unique in your pitch video!
  • Focus on creating a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of your app/AI - if you only have a few components working that is OKAY! Only about 7% of the final score relies on your having a working app/AI. Work on the other submission components if you are stuck on the coding!
  • You can start submitting parts of your project today! We suggest starting with the parts of the project you can finish right now like the Project Name & Description, and the Learning Journey.

✅ Checklist

At our workshop on Saturday, we learned more about pitching! You can access the resources from the workshop on Technovation Waterloo’s website.

This week you will learn more about the learning journey component of the submission. You will also find a useful resource in the weekly checklist about meeting with an online coach!

We have created a Week 11 Checklist for you based on the curriculum.  These Weekly Checklists are made to help you stay on track by covering all the milestones your team should be striving to reach each week. The Technovation slideshow is also linked in the checklist!

Mentor(s) and each member of your team must be FULLY registered before your team can submit their project. Please make sure that all team members have completed their registration on the Technovation website.
